Documentary Cheshire Wedding Photographer at The Plough at Eaton – Josh and Leah

If you have taken a look around my website already or met me at a wedding event, you probably already know that I am a fun and relaxed documentary  Cheshire wedding photographer. I try not to take the world too seriously and look for the joy. Therefore when Josh and Leah told me they wanted a pressure-free, relaxed wedding day where they wouldn’t spend the day endlessly posing, I knew we were a great fit. I am a firm believer in that your wedding should reflect you. That’s what makes each wedding unique and joy to photograph. Leah and Josh didn’t want a wedding too caught up in tradition. As a result they chose the parts that were right for them and got creative with the rest.

Josh and Leah’s Wedding at The Plough at Eaton

Josh and Leah’s non-traditional approach started with the venue. Now it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However I’m sure that many people would love the idea of getting married in a pub. And why not. Pubs are great all year round. Warm and cosy in the winter and one of the best places to get a cool, refreshing beer when the British sun makes a welcome appearance. However, The Plough at Eaton is much more than just your favourite local pub. This venue embodies rustic charm, with its 15th century inn and a 13th century barn that was moved from its home in Wales and lovingly restored in Eaton. With seventeen bedrooms, it was the ideal location for the wedding party to get ready for the big day. The morning’s atmosphere was filled with love, laughter and a flower girl no doubt dreaming of her own big day.

The Ceremony at The Plough Inn, Eaton

Wearing a gorgeous understated gown and carrying her elegant bouquet, it was time for Leah to walk down the aisle. Leah’s dad was beaming with pride. Waiting at the end of the aisle was Josh and their son, Tommy. The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, with Tommy enjoying it in the arms of his parents as they said their ‘I dos’. I have to confess this both made my heart melt at the sight of their little family. I might have share tear or two.

With the I dos over and confetti thrown, it was time for a refreshing drink in the summer sun. Entertaining their guests with classic lawn games, we snuck off for a few natural portraits. I love capturing fun portraits of couples on their wedding day, knowing that for years to come, they will relive those happy moments every time they look at their images. Josh and Leah wanted Cheshire Wedding photographer with a documentary approach, so it wasn’t long before we headed back to the celebrations with their guests.

The Plough at Eaton has a fantastic menu, and the food at this wedding was absolutely delicious. Leah and Josh kindly treated Jawad and me with a wonderful three course meal, though we may have regretted eating so much with what was to come. With tummies and glasses full, the speeches began. I could feel Josh breathe a sigh of relief when his speech was over, and Leah surprised the guests with a hilarious and heartfelt speech. The room was filled with laughter and cowboy hats. There was little surprise for everyone… Josh and Leah had booked a rodeo bull from Iceadventures.com

The Bull

Now you may be thinking, being dressed in your best outfit, polishing off three course meal and a fair amount of alcohol, would stop you riding a mechanical bull. You would be wrong. The guests loved it, and people were all keen to get a go. I can now add bride riding a bull to things I have seen at a wedding. Jawad and I were invited to join in, and I couldn’t resist. I could offer you many bull riding tips, but the first would be, make sure your dinner goes down first before riding.

The Party and the ‘Cake’

In one final break from tradition, Josh and Leah chose doughnuts over a classic wedding cake. This was certainly a popular choice and who doesn’t love Krispy Crème?

Josh and Leah’s big day was one of the most fun and unexpected weddings I have shot. I love it when a couple creates a wedding day that is unique to them, and I had the best time spending the day with Josh, Leah and their family and friends. I’m so glad I now get to call this amazing couple my friends.
